What your clients really want

A pregnant woman standing in an old looking bathroom supporting her belly with her hands, she's wearing a white tshirt and jeans

Spoiler alert: It’s *never* just about the service they booked. 🤯

Think about it: When your clients come to you, they’re not just looking for a quick fix to a problem. Sure, they need something resolved, but what they really want—what keeps them coming back—is so much deeper than that.

Here’s the truth: Your clients want to feel **supported**, **understood**, and always feel like they’re making progress. 💡 They want to know that you’ve *got their back* and that you care enough to help them move forward, not just in the short term, but in the long run. They’re looking for something more than a transaction—they want a relationship. 🤝

---

✨ **So how do you tap into that?** ✨

It starts with weaving those deeper needs into *every* part of your service. From the moment they contact you, through every interaction, follow-up, and touchpoint—you need to be thinking beyond the immediate task at hand.

**Here’s how you can start:**

1. **Go beyond the surface.** What’s the bigger problem your client is trying to solve? Are they looking for more peace of mind? A way to improve their quality of life? Take the time to understand their underlying goals and pain points. Ask them questions, and really listen to their answers. 🎧
2. **Build trust through consistency.** Clients come back when they trust you. Deliver a great experience *every time*—one that shows them you’re not just here to fix today’s problem, but to help them grow and thrive in the future. 🌱
3. **Create a sense of progress.** Whether you’re working with a client, your clients should always leave feeling like they’re a step closer to where they want to be. It’s not just about the results—it’s about how you guide them along the way. ✨

You may be wondering why there’s a photo of me pregnant in a big bathroom? Well, let me tell you a back story, when I was 24 weeks pregnant my husband managed to convince me that it’d take him less than 1 month to rip the (only) bathroom and build two in that space. Do you want to know a secret? he had never ever built one before, let alone two.

So there was me, heavily pregnant without a proper bathroom, really needing, not only a bathroom but also:

- To feel that REAL and QUICK progress was happening
- To feel fully understood and supported (I mean emotionally but also physically, that belly was heavy!)
- To be able to trust that he would make it on time, for me to have a proper shower before giving birth.

It was never about the bathroom, it was about my safety, my mental health, and my last ever shower without a baby waiting for me on the other side of the door.

My baby has just turned 1 year, and the bathrooms aren’t fully finished, but they are working perfectly fine, just a few details to go! And yes, I did managed to get a few solo showers and long baths before baby arrived.

So, now back to the point…

When you focus on **what clients truly value**, the magic happens. ✨ You’re no longer just solving problems—you’re becoming a partner in their journey. And you know what that leads to? **Lasting relationships**. Happy clients who stick around for the long haul, tell their friends about you, and generate steady revenue for your business. 🎯

**The takeaway?** The next time a client walks through your door (or inbox), ask yourself: *What do they really need from me? How can I make sure they feel supported, understood, and like they’re making progress?* Weave that into everything you do, and watch your client relationships transform. 🌟

Spoiler alert it's never JUST what they say. Your clients expect and need from you so much more than just solving that problem at hand. Let's explore some things you can start doing today to build lasting relationships with them!
